Introducing The All-New Honda Odyssey for 2016

Not just for Mom and Pop anymore

Let’s face it. minivan owners have always had somewhat of a fixed reputation.  Soccer moms and Mr. Moms, right?  We here at Honda of Joilet have this to say: Wrong!  So why can we go out on a limb and defy the popular opinion?  Honda’s 2016 Odyssey, that’s why.  Selecting any vehicle is often as much about personal style as it is available options, efficiency, and price.  When it comes to offering all the necessities with ample storage combined with industry awarded safety to keep your family safe, there’s nothing that fits quite so perfectly as the Odyssey by Honda.  Even your kids will refrain from rolling their eyes or turning beet red when being seen getting dropped off in front of school.
The 2016 Honda Odyssey’s signature grille and sleek, angular headlamps set the stage for its refined body through to its symmetrically designed rear.  As in previous years, the Odyssey is offered in six stunning trim levels that cover every need and want in a minivan: base LX, EX, SE, EX-L, Touring and Touring Elite.

Odyssey still keeps dual screen dashboard layout which, although confusing at times, has its advantages. 8-inch touch screen display is standard from the get-go, which is nice to know, and navigation is standard piece of equipment, albeit exclusively with the top, Touring models. Interior refinement, however, isn’t exactly top class. Whole cabin has this plastic feel to it which could have been avoided. Good thing is that half of available models (top ones) offer perforated leather seats which change the picture drastically. The Honda Odyssey 2016 is fitted with high-tech features and plenty of commodities. Among the features are basic or ultra wide rear seat entertainment systems, standard in Touring or Touring Elite models respectively. Blind spot information system is offered this way too, while forward collision warning, lane departure warning and multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines can be had with EX-L models as well.

Like any large vehicle, the 2016 Honda Odyssey requires adequate power. 3.5-liter V6 engine might not be the biggest thing Honda could have chosen, but it does a splendid job anyway. 248 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque are more than adequate to move around 4,500 pounds of curb weight. All models are exclusively front-wheel driven and feature only 6-speed automatic transmission since the latest facelift.
Standard safety equipment on the 2016 Honda Odyssey includes vehicle stability assist with traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist and a rearview camera. Forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems are standard on Odyssey EX-L, Touring and Touring Elite models.

The 2016 Honda Odyssey Minivan earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).  The 2016 Odyssey earned five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), independent of the NHTSA, works to test and evaluate new vehicles to develop and maintain standards in safety.  The IIHS elected not to test the 2016 Honda Odyssey, as it is “essentially a carryover model”.  As the IIHS awarded the 2015 Honda Odyssey with their Top Safety Pick of 2015, earning "good" scores in all crash tests, we’re proud to carry the accolade forward.
