The 2016 Honda Odyssey – Packages and Trims

The 2016 Honda Odyssey is available now in six trim levels: LX, EX, SE, EX-L, Touring and Touring Elite

New to the Odyssey lineup, introduced in August of 2016, the new Special Edition (SE) features a comprehensive selection of premium features available lower in the trim lineup, including the highly acclaimed HondaVAC vacuum system, which we detail below.

According to Honda, “The 2016 Odyssey is designed to comfortably and efficiently accommodate the lifestyles of American families. The Odyssey SE offers customers a high-value proposition, building on the well-equipped EX to enhance in-vehicle entertainment and convenience with several premium features found in higher trims: Rear Entertainment System (RES), 115V power outlet incorporated into RES control panel. SiriusXM® Radio, and the HondaVAC™ in-vehicle vacuum cleaner.

HondaVAC – The Odyssey SE and Touring Elite feature the first minivan in-vehicle vacuum cleaner system, HondaVAC, designed to help families keep the Odyssey’s interior neat and clean. Engineered for dry use, the HondaVAC™ operates on the vehicle’s 12-volt electrical system, and its performance easily surpasses that of a handheld rechargeable vacuums.

Integrated in the rear cargo area of the vehicle, the HondaVAC™ includes an extendable hose that can reach every interior corner of the vehicle. Two separate head attachments expand versatility, while a removable debris canister and replaceable filter bag makes maintaining the vacuum easy. To protect the vehicle battery’s state of charge, the HondaVAC™ runs up to eight minutes when the vehicle’s ignition is in Accessory mode – or continuously if the engine is running.

The base entry level seven-passenger LX is well-equipped with 17-inch steel wheels, variable intermittent wipers, rear privacy glass, a rear spoiler, keyless entry, manual two-zone air-conditioning, cloth upholstery, an eight-way power driver seat, a four-way power front passenger seat, a 60/40 split-folding third-row seat, tilt-and-telescoping steering, full power accessories, cruise control, and an 8-inch multi-information display. It also includes Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a rearview camera, text-to-speech functionality and a seven-speaker audio system with a CD player, Pandora compatibility, an auxiliary audio input jack and a USB/iPod interface.

Moving up to the eight-passenger EX model gets you 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, power-sliding side doors, keyless ignition and entry, tri-zone automatic climate control, a power lumbar adjustment for the driver, a multi-adjustable second-row seat, a removable front center console, retractable second-row sunshades and a conversation mirror. The EX also features Honda’s “LaneWatch” blind-spot camera system (built into the passenger-side mirror) and an additional 7-inch touchscreen with HondaLink smartphone app integration.

EX-L versions add a sunroof, a power liftgate, forward-collision and lane-departure warning systems, leather seating (front and outboard second row), heated front seats, a chilled storage box, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and satellite radio. Additional options include your choice of either a rear-seat entertainment system or a voice-operated navigation system with a rearview camera. Do take note though that on the EX-L trim, these two systems are available one or the other and cannot be ordered together.

Stepping up to the Touring trim upgrades several notable features, including 18-inch alloy wheels, , driver memory settings, foglights, front and rear parking sensors, a 115-volt household-style power outlet, retractable third-row sunshades, and third-row fold-down armrests.
