Honda Superstore of Joliet would like to take a few minutes to explain what sets
this rating apart from all others. Since the 2013 Honda Fit EV is, a 100% electric vehicle, it doesn't travel on chemical fuel.
Therefore, the EPA can't assign it a strict
"miles per gallon" rating. Instead, the company issues what's
referred to as a "miles per gallon equivalent" (MPGe) rating, along with total driving distance (on one charge).
If you are keeping up with the electric vehicle market from other automakers, you will be very excited to hear the following news. the 2013 Honda Fit can travel at a rate of 118 MPG2 with a 20 kWh battery under the hood! You will also be pleased to know that the total range for a single charge is 82 miles.
At this point in time, there is not a single vehicle that can match the i-MiEV rating or the MPGe ratings. When we compare the 2013 Honda Fit EV to its competition, the the second-place
i-MiEV travels at a rate of four MPGe less and has a total driving range of
nearly twenty fewer miles.
