New Honda CR-V Gets a Cautious Redesign

The all new Honda CR-V made its debut in September, just before the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. Many at LAAS showed concern with the direction Honda's award winning cars seem to be taking. Many people were asking why Honda would change the design, with the popularity of the vehicle seemingly at a record high.

Don't panic! The Japanese auto maker is being very careful with how they reshape a well known vehicle like CR-V.

Some of the specs of the 2012 CR-V include:

  • 2.4-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine
  • 185 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque
  • 5-speed automatic transmission
  • 23 mpg city
  • 31 mpg highway

The EcoAssist system onboard CR-V will aide in better driving and have a direct impact on better fuel economy. For example, in order to drive more efficiently, you will see a reminder pop up on the dash and inform you on how to put less pressure on the brakes.

Models will begin with base LX, EX, and up to EX-L with prices ranging from $21,000-$30,000. You can check out the new CR-V at the Honda Superstore Of Joliet, located at 3225 North Plainfield Rd in Joliet, IL on December 15th. Honda believes the "Compact on the outside and roomy inside" CR-V is going to be a huge success.1
